The Honduran coffee institute, IHCAFE, created the Parainema by select breeding from Villa Sarchi and the Timor hybrid with the goal of increasing the resistance to coffee leaf rust and increasing the cup’s quality potential. And because of its distinctive characters of intense juiciness and floral, in 2017, a Parainema won the Honduras Cup of Excellence competition.
